Les Petits Pas Childcare Centre
A non-profit organisation, governed by a board made up of parents.
Les Petits Pas has welcomed 68 children aged 0 to 5 in Saint-Jérôme since 2008. We are a non-profit: decisions are made by a board of directors that includes parents using the service.
Our educational programme
We follow “Accueillir la petite enfance”, Québec’s educational programme for childcare services. In practice, children learn through play rather than worksheets. Educators observe, offer and support — they do not direct.
What that changes day to day
- Groups stay with the same educator from one year to the next
- Meals are cooked on site, with menus reviewed by a nutritionist
- Outdoor time happens every day, except during weather alerts
- Parents receive a written summary every week
Three commitments
Safety without confinement
Compliant premises and ratios, but a yard where children can climb, run and get dirty. A child who never takes a risk never learns to judge one.
Eating well, eating together
Every meal is cooked on site. Children set the table and serve themselves from age three.

A weekly summary, two meetings a year, and a board where your voice genuinely counts.
